The authorities said that the suspect was detained after a car driver shocked a security gateway to the FBI building in Pittsburgh early on Wednesday, then removed the American flag from the rear seat and threw it over the gate before leaving it.
“This was a targeted attack on this building,” Christopher Giordano, a special assistant agent in charge of the FBI in Pittsburgh. No individuals were hurt.
Officials said the suspect, who was determined as Donald Hinson from the near Hills, was detained after 10 am, after more than seven hours of the accident. A spokesman for Bradford Eric said any details about the motivation or how he managed to escape immediately, but the FBI said he had not treated it as a terrorist issue.
No charges have been published in the Federal Docket list of Hennson by early on Wednesday afternoon, and the federal prosecutors did not immediately repeat the request for comment. Giodrano said the FBI will follow the case strongly.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation was aware of Heinson, who was described as Giordano as a former army member. A message that left on a phone number has not been returned immediately.
“He came to the Federal Investigation Office a few weeks ago to file a complaint that had no big meaning,” said Giodrano.
He said the car seems to have a kind of messages on a side window, but it was not clear. The car, a white sedan, appears to have an American air force sticker.
Investigators, including bombs, did not find explosives at the scene.
Eric said that the security portal is working around the clock around the clock.
