Before the prestigious air exhibition in Paris later this month, the Israeli company Advanced defense systems Rafael Its laser system, which consists of three versions: iron beam, iron package M, and Lite Beam.
At the Paris Fair, Rafael Iron Beam 450, an upgrade version of the iron package system that includes a 450 mm hole beam manager instead of 250 millimeters. This provides the upgraded operating range, higher accuracy and very high efficiency. Iron Beam is the only system of its kind in the world with a laser power of up to 100 kilowatts. The high energy mixture with the director of the opening of the opening allows a range of about 10 km, and high resolution despite laser restrictions.
These restrictions include a significant decrease in efficiency during cloudy and blurry conditions, while its main advantage is that each objection costs $ 5 -10 dollars compared to $ 30,000 per objection to the Iron Dome. Iron beam works using a strong AA beam that diverges. It releases 100-200 such packages, and when the system discovers that one beam has reached its goal, it guides all the packages on a identical frequency and focuses on the target.
Due to the laser restrictions, the iron beam and the iron dome will be spread alongside, completing each other. The Israeli Ministry of Defense revealed last week that the iron package system had already carried out operational objections during the war. With the largest opening of 450 millimeters, the iron beam will be deployed near the border, population centers, and strategic infrastructure to protect it from missiles, missiles, drones and mortars.
At the same time, Rafael produced Iron M – a mobile version of the laser system. This is a smaller version of the iron package with a 250mm hole and 50 kW energy, which can be installed on the X88 truck, and as a result of energy reduction, its range is also about half of the regular iron beam. Through fast publishing capabilities, Iron Beam M will provide protection for the maneuvering forces and strategic infrastructure with all its systems on the same truck. Due to its low power, it will be able to handle missiles, drones and mortar shells.
A smaller version is a light ray with 10 kW energy. It is lighter and more than Iron Beam M, and is designed to be installed on 4×4 vehicles or armored personnel staff companies, and to provide mobile tactical protection against drones. Along with the RAFAEL Cup protection against anti -tank missiles, Lite Beam will significantly boost protection for the maneuvering forces.
RAFAEL EVP and General Manager of the TZVI Marmor Lands Department is that Trophy is the only active defense system in the world that has been proven in the battlefield, while it is installed on hundreds of Merkava tanks and tiger armored personnel. This system, similar to the air defense system, has achieved 90 % objection capabilities or more on the northern and southern fronts of Israel, despite the unprecedented number of anti -tank missiles launched during the war. “The cup has been operated since 2010, but the threats have changed, and we adapt the system for this purpose,” says Marmore. “During the war, RAFAEL released program releases aimed at dealing with new challenges.”

Israeli technological penetration
Over the years, Rafael has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in the Iron Beam project, and during the war, it made more than 40 objections to the northern theater. This success in international companies participating in developing laser -based defense systems caused the Israeli company because of its success, to discuss cooperation. Meanwhile, Rafael Yuval Steinz’s chairman says that the company does not settle for its glories, and even before Iron Beam officially operates in the last quarter of 2025, it is conducting research to increase the regime.
“The importance of this development cannot be exaggerated, not only from the point of view of Israel and the security effects,” Steinitz asserts. “With regard to the history of science and technology, there is a boom here. Since the discovery of the laser in the 1960s, it was clear that this is a very special and vital beam.
The CEO of Rafael Yoav Tourgeman, who has extensive experience in Israeli defense industries, including a long profession in IAI and Elta, sees laser systems as a turning point in the modern battlefield. “The cost of the objection is a decrease, and there is no magazine that must be downloaded and this is a revolution. This is the first time that the economic advantage of the campaign is alongside the defender and not the attacker.”
Golan also talked about Spain’s decision to suspend the purchase of Raphael’s Rafael missiles from its Spanish branch, Bab Tekinos. He says: “Spain is a long -term customer who bought very large quantities of missiles from us, and has active contracts with us.
