Shashua’s expert artificial intelligence company AA-I is raising funds

Founded in Jerusalem, AA-I Technologies has moved to offices in Ramat Gan, where it employs dozens of employees, most of whom are AI engineers and PhDs in the field. After Globes first reported on the company’s existence two years ago, Shashua first introduced AA-I technologies in a tweet on X in December 2024, writing that one of its goals was to develop inference models that would perform operations and make decisions like human experts.

The new models, whose programming was developed by Shashua and his team – who have worked at other Shashua companies such as AI21 Labs and Mentee Robotics – allow AI systems to make highly accurate and correct decisions while working to solve a problem or completing a task – an important element in turning AI into a kind of digital agent that will not only be satisfied with providing answers to questions, but will also perform tasks and, above all, will think like a human expert – such as a software developer, doctor or researcher.

The company was founded in August 2023 by Shashua, his co-founder of robotics company Mentee Robotics, Professor Shai Shald Swartz, and several promising scientists who were Shashua’s former students in the Department of Computer Science, including Professor Yoav Levin – Shashua’s former AI21 AI scientist, who completed postdoctoral work at Stanford; Professor Or Schrier, who is also a former AI21 scientist and completed postdoctoral studies at Caltech; Dr. Noam Weiss, an algorithms expert recruited from Orcam, another Shashua company; and Dr. Gal Benjamini, from the School of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Weizmann Institute of Science.

There was no response from the company.
