The Israeli delegation consisting of 20 companies this week participates in the DSEI International Defense Exhibition in Japan. Seven companies participate through SIBAT, the International Defense Cooperation Directorate in the Israeli Ministry of Defense and eight companies from startups led by the Ministry of Defense for Research and Development (DDR & D).
This year’s exhibition is twice the size of the event 2023 and Sibat Head Brig. He tells Gen. (RES.
“We have come here for the first time in 2023. it aims to Asia and the Pacific Ocean and it is clear how much it grows.” “About five years ago, Japan has identified as a penetration state in the Ministry of Defense, and since then the investment has been continuing. This investment has proven itself, because export data indicates an increase of annual exports to Japan for tens of millions of dollars to hundreds of millions.
Among the companies that appear in SIBAT Pavilion are orbi technologies, which provide advanced air and naval communications systems and satellite tracking; Xten, which develops and manufactures artificial intelligence -based drone systems; Steadicopter, which provides abnormal air systems with actual time capabilities and precise attack capabilities; Magnabsd, which has developed an artificial intelligence -based video analysis for military monitoring and critical infrastructure protection.

Our industry is amazing, innovative and proactive, while Japanese love technology, and playing technology. They are interested in everything from Israel. We have come with DDR & D startups, and they feel overwhelmed by Israeli technology.”
How is the defense relationship to Israel with Japan?
“The relationship has continued in years. The managers of the Ministry of Defense came, as Benny Gantz did. The Ministry’s departments are coming to Japan, and everyone has been involved from the moment we made a decision regarding the country’s storming.”

Despite political tensions, “all exhibitions on the agenda”
Because of the political tensions between Israel and European countries, the list of exhibitions in which SIBAT includes many destinations that are somewhat challenge. The first of which is more famous ever, which is the air exhibition in Paris next month, which, as “Globes”, will have a limited presence of Israeli companies because of the obstacles raised by French President Emmanuel Macron on Israeli companies that appear in his country’s defense exhibitions. After that, the appearance is planned at the DSEI (in London) in September, Seoul Adex in October, and the Dubai Air Show in November. “All exhibitions on the agenda, and there are no signs of cancellation,” asserts Collas.
One of the main challenges faced by SIBAT in all areas is to desire all over the world to manufacture in their countries. One of these countries is Japan, and Kolas is defined as a “dangerous direction.” “This change has become more clear,” he says. “
What distinguishes your work in Japan?
“We use every meeting exhibition, but now I focus on the Japanese, on large companies, in the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Security. Before we arrived, we had last day to work with companies on companies and commercial and personal culture, and what we do not do, and do not do that, and we respect ourselves. A deal without a local company.”
In October, as we mentioned, the Ministry of Defense will attend an important air exhibition in Seoul. On this extent, Collas says, “Seoul is an industrial center like Japan, and we must be there. Our industry is connected to South Korea, produces a platform and produces radar. Secondary products on Korean platforms are useful for both sides, because they appeal to other markets. This is the need for our industries.”
