Israel to import Xiaomi cars

Hemilton, owned by the AHARONI family, and the Land Rover Hamzrach importer, owned by the Eini family, established a joint venture for the import of cars, according to the corporate registry.

The new company, which is being equal by both parties, is likely to focus on importing electric cars for the Chinese Xiaomi company, which will start sales in the West next year.

Several months waiting list

The concession of the Xiaomi giant Chinese electronics department is one of the most attractive in the Israeli auto import market, due to the amazing success of the company in China.

Xiaomi only started producing vehicles in March 2024 using one electric sedan, which competes with Tesla Model 3, but has already delivered more than 240,000 units in China so far, with a waiting list for several months.

This month, the company also launched in China a sports electrician called SU7, which competes with Tesla Model Y but provides longer specifications and higher energy specifications at a lower price. According to China’s reports, the car attracted more than 200,000 in advance in the first three minutes of the opening of sales in China. Time to wait for the car is currently more than a year. Next year, the company is also expected to launch its first model with an additional engine.

Despite the success of impressive sales, car manufacturing operations in Xiaomi are still unprecedented and the company loses thousands of dollars on every car it sells. However, she reaps handsome profits at her share price, which has multiplied almost three times since mid -2014.

The company is currently creating an additional manufacturing factory, which would help increase production capacity and meet the demand. Xiaomi announced that it will not start official exports to the West before 2027, but at the same time, it entered into an agreement about two months ago with an international commercial company from China that will deal with exports to various countries until official exports begin. The company started even in testing cars in Europe.

Hemilton sought to get local infrastructure

Hemilton announced last year that it will serve as an importer of electric cars in Xiaomi, but the auto industry has estimated that the company will have to find a local partner. This is due to the fact that it does not have the infrastructure required to market vehicle marketing and services at the national level.

The Eini family, which controls Hamzrahi, is also a partner in UMI. It is an importer that focuses on luxury compounds with brands of jaguar, Land Rover and Range Rover. More than a decade ago, one of the pioneers of importing cars from China was when the Chinese company was held until its last activity in Europe.

“The company plans to import Xiaomi cars. Expectations for 2027, taking into account European standards and stocks,” said Hemilton Ephraim AHARONI.

There was no response from Hamzarehi.
