Israel on list as Trump unveils tariffs

Last night, US President Trump revealed the new and comprehensive trade policy, including preventive definitions on almost all goods that were imported to the United States. During his speech in the Pink White House park “to restore wealth to the United States,” Trump explained that this dramatic change in economic policy is designed to restore industrial power to the United States.

From the end of this week, a 10 % basic tariff will be imposed on all goods imported to the United States from countries that are not compatible with the USMCA trade agreement. Products from Mexico and Canada will continue to withstand a 25 % tariff if they are considered incompatible with the agreement. In addition, starting next Tuesday, April 9, mutual tariffs will be imposed on about 60 countries that Trump is known as the “most harmful”, at a rate equal to half of the definitions they impose on American goods.

For example, China will undergo a 34 % tariff, while the European Union will undergo a 20 % tariff. Goods from Japan will undergo 24 % definitions and India 26 %.

Israel is also listed on the list, with a relatively low mutual tariff compared to most countries – 17 % – on Israeli products sold in the United States. “It is very simple,” Trump said. “We finally put America first.” Finance Minister Paisalel Soutrich has signed an order to cancel the Israeli definitions of imports from the United States, but it is required approval from the Knesset Finance Committee.
