Emirates Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Crypto.com To integrate Bitcoin and Crypto payments into their reservation systems, which represents a big step towards Bitcoin’s adoption in the travel industry.

The agreement, signed in the presence of the President of the Emirates, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, will enable customers to pay the price of flights using Bitcoin and Crypto through Crypto.com Pay, with the expectation of integration in 2026.

Adnan Kazim, UAE Vice President and Chief Trading officials, said, “The partnership with Crypto.com to integrate the cryptocurrency into our digital payment system reflects the UAE’s commitment to meet the preferences of advanced customers, in addition to benefiting from the younger customer sectors that prefer digital workers,” said Adnan Kazim, UAE Vice President and Chief Trading officials.

He continued, “This strategic step is in line with Dubai’s vision to be at the forefront of financial innovation and at the same time providing our customers with flexibility and greater choice in how to deal with the Emirates.”

The UAE is scheduled to join a growing list of airlines that accept Bitcoin and Crypto, along with Latvia’s Airbaltic, making it the largest airline to do so. The move comes at a time when Dubai is placed at the Tasfir Center, where many local companies already accept Bitcoin for payments.

At the time of the press, Bitcoin is trading 109,489 dollars, an increase of 0.42 % over the past 24 hours, as the markets treat the effects of the expansion of institutional adoption through the integration of payment.
