From the sale of denim on market stalls to advice to Gandhi’s dynasty about political campaigns, Bob Shard was not until one of the most extensive brand branded brand strategies.
As a founder and owner of the participant Freshbritain– The brand design company with a difference – He built his career on thirsty industries, influencing the global outdoor giants, and turning the purpose into a profit.
The spark lit up for his professional life at the Halifax Stadium, when a new husband of the coaches turned his social fortunes overnight. That formative moment showed the strength of the brand. This was a journey through fashion, marketing, sport, politics-and some punishing high tests along the way. Starting from barefoot grapes in his father’s garage to his toes to resurrect the Arctic to obtain the brand vision of the performance, Pob’s commitment to the final user understands deeply.
Freshbritain, who co-founded his wife and partner at Sophie-who stretches the background fashion, Amnesty International, and computer science-won the reputation of “unique brands” by align her with strategic, financial and long-term goals. Since businesses to help brands speed up their clear ambitions, Bob is still troubled, uncompromising curiosity, and depends on the task.
What is the inspiration behind Freshbritain?
I started with a pair of trainers and a moment at the Halifax School Stadium. This was the first time that I really understood the brand’s strength.
After working inside the industry – at Convert, Karrimor and Levi’s – I saw the performance side of the brand closely. When I launched Freshbritain, I wanted to strip this away and focus on the truth, influence and financial return. There is no lifestyle fluff – just material, accuracy, and real transformation.
We are applying. Sometimes, this wanders through the desert to Salomon or feeling the frost hall of ultraviolet. We believe in “adopting the nature of the prey” – as soon as possible from the live experience. This is the way to build important brands.
Who are you like and why?
James Kurly, former international president. Teach me about winning. James knew when he pressed forward – and when he won. The clarity, charisma and strategic mentality helped us re -perceive the future of Salomon together. He also gave us the best certificate: “Freshbritain Unfress*CKS.”
Another Sam Petroda. Known as the Digital Indian Father, Sam asked me once to help write his book to redesign the world. He told me: “Most people aim at what is possible. You and I must aim to be impossible.” It is difficult to say no.
If we look back, are there anything you would do differently?
naturally. Show me a person without remorse and I will see you a liar.
I hope you joined the army. Discipline, exposure to raw human behavior – it is invaluable for a person working in brand psychology.
I hope I did a master’s business. Our business works closely with private stocks, and this rehabilitation can quickly track certain conversations.
I hope to start building cooperative networks earlier. Our open source work on sustainability tools is something I am proud of now, but this mentality came later.
Oh, and I did not climb K2. Those paintings.
What determines your way of doing business?
A handful of words: passion. mania. addicted. the people. relationship. Change.
I am addicted to what I do. It is the only thing I was good ever, and I will not rest until I found a solution to the problem in front of me.
I believe in people – their development, support, and helping to fly. Whether our team, customers, universities and charities we support, I want to leave people (and the planet) better than I found.
Now, we use our experience to help brands move towards zero – and do so transparently. This means giving up some of our best tools because progress does not happen in silos.
What advice do you give to someone begins?
It is simple.
If you do nothing – nothing happens.
If you do something – something happens.
So, just do something. And see what happens.
Start. Be brave. Make the mistakes. And never let fear hinder you – it’s your rear wind.
